A Seat at the Table for Every Neighbor

Join Our June 27th Community Feeding Event

On June 27th, Rising Together is hosting a community feeding event in Central Florida with a mission to provide hot, nutritious meals to 100 homeless neighbors. We believe that food security and dignity go hand-in-hand, and we are inviting the community to help us restore hope through local action.

As we work to combat homelessness in Polk County, your support is vital. We are currently seeking local partners for the following:

Volunteer Opportunities: Join our team on the ground to help with meal service and guest hospitality.

Event Sponsorships: We are looking for local business sponsors to help fund the costs of this outreach and maximize our community impact.

Charitable Donations: Every contribution goes directly toward providing high-quality meals and supplies for our neighbors in need.

Together, we can create a stronger, more connected Central Florida community. Help us reach our goal of serving 100 meals this June.

Winter Coat & Supply Drive

What happened On a 41-degree morning in February, more than 80 volunteers showed up before sunrise to help us sort through donations from across Central Florida. By noon we had distributed: 214 winter coats to families across Polk County 400+ pounds of cold-weather supplies — blankets, socks, gloves, hats 62 emergency hygiene kits to neighbors without shelter A row of donated coats hanging in a community center The moment we'll remember A fifth grader from Auburndale walked into the gym carrying a black trash bag. Inside were eleven coats. Her class had taken up a collection. She said, "My mom told me cold isn't a feeling, it's a problem you can fix." Thank you to everyone who showed up, donated, organized, drove a route, made sandwiches, or just told a neighbor about it. Polk County is warmer because you did.

New Year — New Goals Workshop

A room full of fresh starts Thirty-four adults walked into our community room on a Saturday morning and walked out with a written one-year plan for their family's stability. We covered three frameworks: The Three-Bucket Goal method (now / next / next year) Mapping money milestones to family milestones Accountability circles — the small group of people who will text you in March when life gets in the way Six months later We checked back in with attendees in July. 23 of 34 were still actively tracking the goals they wrote that morning. Eleven had hit their first major milestone. I came in wanting to try. I left knowing exactly what to do next. — Workshop attendee, age 38

Thanksgiving Family Feast

What this day looked like By the time we cleaned up at 8 PM, more than 150 families had sat down together for a hot meal in our community space — turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, and three kinds of pie made by volunteer grandmothers. Long banquet tables filled with families sharing a Thanksgiving meal Many came alone and left with new friends. A handful came not knowing where their next meal would be — and left with takeaway containers heavy enough to carry them through the weekend. By the numbers 150+ families served 42 volunteers across two shifts 18 dishes brought from home by neighbors 0 people turned away Thank you To the church across the street that loaned us their tables. To the family that dropped off three turkeys at 6 AM. To the kids who ran around with crayons making placemats. To the woman who quietly washed dishes for three hours and slipped out before we could thank her — we saw you. This is what Thanksgiving is supposed to feel like. — First-time guest
