Legacy Workshop: Financial Foundations
A practical, no-jargon session on budgeting, building credit, and breaking the cycles that keep families stuck. Real tools for real life.
Built for the family that nobody taught this stuff to
If you grew up in a household where money was either something we don't talk about or something we never had enough of — this workshop is for you. No shame, no judgment, no spreadsheets you'll never open again.
What we'll actually cover
- The 60-minute budget — a framework simple enough to do on a napkin, sturdy enough to use for years.
- Credit, demystified — what your score actually measures, what nobody told you, and three things you can do this week to move it.
- The two accounts every adult needs — and the one most people open by mistake that costs them hundreds a year.
- Talking to your kids about money — because the cycle breaks at the kitchen table.
Who teaches this
Two financial coaches who've each spent over a decade in the field, with a combined 40 years of helping working-class families get unstuck. Both have lived versions of the story they're teaching from.
Childcare is on us
We'll have certified caregivers in the next room running activities for kids ages 3 – 12. Just check the box on the registration form so we know how many to plan for.
I left with a budget that fit on an index card and a savings plan I actually use. Six months later I had my first emergency fund. — Past attendee, fall 2025
